Anger Management in the Classroom
Room 050 Mark Stortvedt, PhD, LMHP, CPC, Oasis Counseling This workshop comes from Dr. Stortvedt's experience as a Jr. High School teacher at Nathan Hale Jr. High School in Omaha, NE. The workshop will include identifying behavior expectations and how these can trigger anger in the teacher, brain science behind anger in general, managing student anger and frustration in a classroom, deescalating anger, communication strategies with parents after an anger episode at school and a hands on game that encourages communication by children regarding their emotions and behaviors.
